Scented Candle Guide

Please read the full guide before lighting your candle.

The First Burn

  • Candle wax has a ‘memory’. To prevent tunnelling let the candle burn until the melted wax reaches edge of the vessel.  This usually takes 2-4 hours. Burn for a maximum of 4 hours. If the wax does not quite meet the edge, don’t worry, it will catch up on subsequent burns. Contact us if you require help.

Safety Information

  • Always trim the wick to 5mm before burning.
  • Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Caution: Vessel surface can become hot!
  • Extinguish the candle when only 5-10mm of wax remains.
  • Place the candle on a stable, heat resistance surface.
  • Keep away from draughts, flammable objects, children and pets.
  • Keep the melt pool free from debris and burn in a well ventilated room.
  • If the candle flame becomes flickery: extinguish, let cool and trim the wick before relighting.
  • Never pick up or move a burning candle.
  • Keep tin away from water to prevent staining. Our labels use water-based ink and water will cause the ink to bleed.
  • Fragranced candles have a risk of allergic reaction. Please refer to the CLP label.
  • Our candles use rapeseed & coconut wax, which may perform differently to other candles you’ve used. Please contact us if you require help.
How to Recycle Your Candle Tin

When your wax level has between 5-10mm left, extinguish. Let it set then put your candle in the freezer for a few hours. Gently pop the wax out with a spoon and put in general waste, along with the wick and glue. Wash the candle with hot soapy water, dry and put it in your recycling bin.
